Sierra Leoneans are denied Entry Visa into Tanzania: A case for the new designate Minister of Foreign Affairs
According to mysierraleoneanonline.com investigation, a country like Sierra Leone, Mali, Somalia, Syria, Senegal, and over 25 other countries do not have access to free entry visa into one of Africa’s richest tourism and business centre countries in East Africa.
Could this mean the Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation, Ministry of Tourism and Culture including the Ministry of Trade see nothing good in Tanzania that Sierra Leone can tap from?
Sierra Leone is among the category of “Stateless persons or persons with refugee status” who are denied entry visa in Tanzania.
If you are a Sierra Leonean businessman or wants to travel to Tanzania for tourism and family visits, you need six weeks to apply for a referred visa through the Tanzania Immigration Services before you’ll be allowed entry into the country.
The Eastern Africa Country warns that “… NATIONALS AND PERSONS OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED COUNTRIES AND/OR CATEGORIES ABOVE MAY NOT BE ALLOWED ENTRY INTO TANZANIA WITHOUT BEING IN POSSESSION OF REFERRED VISAS.”
To obtain a referred visa you need to provide the following proof:
• Provide proof of having host in Tanzania
• The host should provide detailed information including: physical address, telephone number and employment or business (ID)
Mysierraleoneonline.com has learned that Sierra Leoneans whom were not aware of these information had been rejected entry into the country because of such.
Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar, with Arabic influences, and Mafia, with a marine park home to whale sharks and coral reefs.
The country has rich tourism and business sectors Sierra Leone can learn from.
This medium is calling for the attention of the new Minister designated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation Mrs Nabeela Tunis to look into this matter. If countries such as Ghana, Gambia, Rwanda etc. citizens have free entry visa into the country why not Sierra Leonean citizens?
