SLIEPA PRESENTS STATUS REPORT TO THE MINISTER OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY
A cross section of the Management Team of Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA) led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Sheku Lexmond Koroma has today 12th June, 2019 paid a courtesy call on Dr. Edward Hinga Sandy and Rev. Abraham James Sesay- Jones, Minister and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry respectively.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry is the line Ministry that directly supervises SLIEPA.
In a brief statement, the CEO of SLIEPA, Mr. Koroma, introduced members of the Management Team comprising the Acting Director of Marketing and Communications Francis Minah, Bobson Margai Acting Director of Export Development, Acting Director of Finance Moses Fawundu, Export Development Manager Henry Fofanah and the Internal Auditor Philip Tarawali. Mr Koroma congratulated Dr. Sandy on his appointment as the Minister of Trade and Industry. He said the SLIEPA Team paid the Minister, his Deputy and the Chief Director of Trade a visit to present to them a status report of the Agency. He further guaranteed the commitment of SLIEPA to work with the ministry to achieve the goal and objectives set for them.
When presenting the status report of the Agency, the SLIEPA Acting Director of Marketing and Communications, Mr. Francis Minah, joined his CEO to congratulate the Honorable Minister and to appreciate him for his warm reception. He went on to present the report by elaborating on four key areas ranging from the Over view of SLIEPA (Vision and Mission Statement), key activities and Programs Executed by the Agency, Update on Policy Review/ Development and Challenges and Means of Mitigation.
In his response, the Honorable Minister, Dr. Sandy thanked the SLIEPA Team; saying that he was impressed by the presentation and activities rolled out by the Agency. He noted that he will have an open-door policy and his Ministry will work together with SLIEPA and provide the necessary support to enable SLIEPA to achieve its set goals and deliver on its mandate.
The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Rev. Abraham James Sesay-Jones, also reiterated the Ministry’s support to SLIEPA leading to its success.
The SLIEPA Team presented to the Minister and his Deputy copies of the recent promotional materials produced by the Agency for distribution to potential investors approaching the Ministry.
