Sierra Leone’s representative to the Miss Universe pageant arrived in Manila on Tuesday, with the beauty queen praising Filipinos for giving her “the best welcome.” “The Filipinos are so warm. They gave me the best welcome. Thank you all,” Hawa Kamara wrote in an Instagram post, which showed a video of her at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Representatives from Thailand, US Virgin Islands, Brazil and Guyana have also arrived in Manila to prepare for the international beauty competition. The coronation day of the 65th Miss Universe pageant will be held on January 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Philippine bet Maxine Medina is hoping to follow in the success of her predecessor Pia Wurtzbach, who was named Miss Universe 2015.
