The National Chairman of the Ordelay Society Union, Mr. Sankoh Sesay yesterday testified before Principal Magistrate Dr. Abu Bakarr Binneh Kamara of court No1 where eight supporters of main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) are being tried.
In his testimony, the forth prosecution witness Mr. Sankoh Sesay told the court that he did not know any of the eight accused persons that were arraigned before the court.
The witness who came to court on subpoena said that he recalled on the 25th April 2016 at which time he received an application letter from SLPP for permit of their “Arie Wuteteh” masque devil.
Upon receiving the application, the witness said the Union replied to the letter written by the SLPP Secretariat on the 27th April 2016.
The original Sletter together with the application letter written by the SLPP was given to the Union Secretary to be delivered to the Party Secretariat.
The witness said the Union Secretary later came to the union office with his clothes torn and sustained bruises all over his body.
During the alleged manhandle of the union secretary, both original letters and monies of the union were allegedly missing.
Photo copies of the documents were produced and tendered in court as exhibites.
The accused including the SLPP Women’s Leader Madam Mariam Lulu Sheriff and six others were arraigned on several counts ranging from disorderly behavior, throwing missile, unlawful procession to malicious damage contrary to Law.
The particulars of offence state that the accused on the 27th April 2016 at the party National Secretariat on Wallace Johnson Street in Freetown unlawfully processed on the main street and throwing missiles that maliciously damaged government official vehicles.
The accused were represented by Lawyer H.M. Ngevao while police Inspector Hawa Barrie deputized the Assistance Superintendent of Police (ASP) Samuel Kamara who is prosecuting the matter.

Bail continues for the accused and the matter was adjourned to the 18th August 2016 for further hearing.
