Sierra Leone & Lupa Roma striker Alieu Sesay has told this press that he is looking forward to wear his country`s colour in the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The 20-year-old striker thinks he is having his best but however said he is still looking forward to take his side to another level this season`s competition. Sesay is currently on loan to Seria D Anziolavinio FC having helped Lupa Roma to win the Eccellenza Lazio B division play-off title to gained promotion.
In the season 2013-14 the club moved to Rome changing its name to A.S.D. Lupa Roma and playing the home matches in nearby Fiumicino. In the next season it was promoted to Lega Pro as Girone G champions, changing its name again to Lupa Roma F.C. as a sign of return to the professional ranks after a 34-season absence.
Sesay side Anziolavinio FC will be engaging Lazio in a warm-up match later today ahead of the new season having lost to Brogo Podgora 2-0 over the weekend. He said he`s relishing playing for the country`s senior side, Leone Stars in the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
He said: “I am in a right space at the moment, I have not been happier than I am right now,” Sesay told this press. "I think the little contribution I’ve made at the club so far, has been good and that is why I am looking forward to represent my country.
“The hardest thing now is to fight and convince the coach that I can offer something different to the team.
"I want to take the first step by convincing the coach and I will make sure i seize that opportunity when the needs arise.
“The group stage qualifier is very important and I am looking forward to be part of the squad.
“We`ve a young squad and I believe with the support from the fans we will surely fulfill their dream of reaching the African Cup of Nations come 2015”. Sierra Leone are in Group G alongside Ivory, Cameroon and DR Congo.
