Ibrahim 'Obreh' Kargbo
Leone Stars captain Ibrahim 'Obreh' Kargbo and midfielder duo Rodney Strasser and Hassan Milla Sesay were among a host of foreign-based players that arrived in Freetown on Monday ahead of the country's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying encounter against Equatorial Guinea.
Leone Stars will host the NzalangNacional at the National Stadium in Freetown on September 7 in the final group B clash of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. Both teams will be playing for pride after their hopes of reaching the next round of the qualifiers were respectively dashed by Cape Verde and Tunisia - two teams that are still in the chase for the only qualification spot in the group.
With pride and possibly a ranking spot to battle for, coach Jonny McKinstry was happy to have most of his players in his first training session on Tuesday evening. Among the players who arrived on Monday night was America-based goalkeeper John Trye and former Chelsea youngster Sam Bangura.
Assistant captain Umaru'Zaingallay' Bangura, Sheriff Suma, Gibril'Barel'Sankoh, Hassan 'Milla' Sesay, Mustapha Dumbuya, John Kamara, Mohamed 'Medo' Kamara, Abdulai Bell-Baggie, Mustapha 'Haji' Bangura, Ibrahim 'Teteh' Bangura, Mohamed 'Poborsky' Bangura, Michael Lahoud, andAlhassan'Crespo'Kamaraall landed on Monday night for the clash.
Meanwhile, newly acquired Middlesbrough striker, Kei Kamara and France-based goalkeeper, Solomon Zombo Morris are both expected in town today.
