Chernor Ojuku Sesay
Sierra Leone’s Press Attaché to The European Union, Chernor Ojuku Sesay, has claimed that the Normalization Committee is hell-bent on disqualifying Rodney Michael and Mohamed Kalloh from contesting for any position.
Ojuku in one of his postings on facebook claimed that the five members of the Normalization Committee which consist of his political mentor, colleagues and school mates have advised him to stay silent and leave the rest to them.
The aim of the grand conspiracy to disqualify Rodney Michael was hatched after he was linked with the betting company, Mercury International.
In private exchanges with a close friend in Sierra Leone, Ojuku confirmed that the nomination forms will be released next week and definitely Rodney Michael and his group will be crying. A senior stakeholder was shocked at the claim; considering the fact that the road map for the congress has not been publicized by the Normalization Committee.
Ojuku’s statement comes at a time a Normalization Committee member, Milton Boyle, has been accused by local media and FA members of campaigning publicly for one candidate.
He further claimed that three of the Normalization Committee members are working with Abdul Rahmann Swarray, the Acting General Secretary of the FA, to convince the Chairman, Ali Fornah, to join forces with them and boot out the popular candidate, Rodney Michael, out of the race as it appears to be the only way Madam Johansen could beat Rodney Michael.
The Chairman has however remained steadfast and adamant. According to close sources, he has vowed that no one would damage his reputation and that he would be remembered as conducting a free and fair election that will reflect the will of the people.
In reaction, a very strong supporter of Rodney Michael and a senior Western Area FA Executive expressed his disappointment at such statements from Ojuku and the allegations against the Normalization Committee and the Secretariat. He advised that Mr. Fornah was obliged to comment and give the appropriate assurances to everyone that this election would be free and fair.
