Premier League champions Diamond Stars opened their title defence with a convincing 1-0 victory over Kamboi Eagles at the Community ground in Kono on Friday.
Mohamed Janneh got the only goal that separated the two sides in the early minutes of the first half. Diamond Stars will be engaging their bitter rivals, Gem Stars at the Tongo field Sunday. Gem Stars however took a bold step in their opening fixture as they overpowered Bo Rangers 2-0 at the Bo Coronation ground in Bo.
However, newly promoted side Anti Drugs were forced to a goalless draw by their local rivals East End Lions at the Ernest Bai Koroma stadium at Newton, while Republic of Sierra Leone Arm Forces(RSLAF) succumb to Mighty Blackpool by 2-0 at the Wusum ground in Makeni on Friday.
Meanwhile, Freetown City FC came from behind to hold Central Parade to a 1-1 draw at the Brima Atouga mini complex on Friday.

In tomorrow`s fixtures, Gem Stars will welcome Diamond at the Tongo ground, while East End will hope to secure their first victory in this year`s campaign as they welcome FC Johansen at the National stadium in Freetown.
Ports Authority who were held on Wednesday by FC Johansen will engage RSLAF at the SLFA football academy in Kintom, while Kamboi Eagles will play host to their bitter rivals Bo Rangers at the Town field in Kenema on Sunday.
