The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has confirmed to this press that Ishmael Koroma is the new chairman of the SLFA Premier League Board.

In an interview with this press, the former Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLJA) said this year`s league will be unique compare to the previous ones.

Ishmael Koroma told he welcomes his appointment despite it's a challenging one.

He said: “I’m happy for the appointment as the new PLB Chairman because I was looking for such an opportunity to serve my country.

I know is a very challenging one but by God's grace me and my team will work very hard to get a successful league.”

When asked whether the league will be a two-round league; he replied; “It’s going to be a two-round league with the first round due to finish on August 31, and nine venues in all will be used for the league matches,” he stressed.

He however said the Board is presently negotiating with business partners for sponsorship. “We`ve approach business companies to sponsor the league but I can`t say company A will sponsor the 2013 Premier League. We hopefully will come out with a statement when the deal is finalized.
