Brief history of Manchester City Sierra Leone
Armani’s story is one of rags to riches indeed. It is reported that while hawking wares on the beach, Armani ran into Tony Griffiths in 2003. Tony a retired Manchester City police officer was then working in Salone to train police officers and Social Service Workers.
During the encounter, Mr. Griffiths identified himself as a Man City fan and was immediately serenaded with the bluemoon anthem by a fellow supporter on the poor side of the divide. Tony was so impressed by the Lad’s knowledge of English football that one thing led to another – the creation of the Man City-Salone Supporter’s club and website four visits to England and the shipment of a bus and container of football kits to help the soccer crazed youth of Salone under the auspices of Armani.
Armani did not only use the kits for his club, but he selflessly spread the largesse to others including Johansen FC, whose owner is now alleged to be the behind his legal troubles.
